APGENCO Thermal Power Plants are consistently winning prestigious awards presented by Govt. of India.
The Honourable Energy Minister of India has awarded the shields and certificates for the outstanding performance of the Generating Stations Dr Narla tata rao Thermal Power Station(VTPS)(1260 MW) and Rayalaseema TPS (420MW) for the years 2006-07 in a function held at new Delhi on 20.03.2008	The Honourable Prime Minister of India has awarded the shields and certificates for the outstanding performance of the Generating Units Upper Sileru HPS Stage-I &II, Kothagudem Thermal Power Station, Rayalaseema Thermal Power Station, Vijayawada Thermal Power Station for the years 2004-05 and 2005-06 in a function held at new Delhi on 21.03.2007.

Incentive Award is given by GOI for Efficient & Economic operation.

VTPS, RTPP & KTPS V have qualified for Gold Medal for Meritorious Productivity Award for year 2003-04

Vijayawada Thermal Plant has won the Meritorious Productivity Award for twenty-one consecutive years - In which it has won nine gold medals - and Incentive Award for twelve consecutive years.

Rayalaseema Thermal plant has won the Meritorious Productivity Award for seven consecutive years - gold medal six times - and Incentive Award for eight consecutive years.

Kothagudem Thermal Station V stage has won the Meritorious Productivity Award for five consecutive years - all are gold medals - and Incentive Award for five consecutive years.

Kothagudem Thermal Station (O&M) has won the Meritorious Productivity Award for ten times and Incentive Award for nine times.

His Excellency the Honorable President of India and the Honorable Union Minister of Power have awarded the Gold shield and certificates for the outstanding performance of the Generating Units 2 x 250 MW at Kothagudam Thermal Power Station Stage – V, for the consecutive 5 years , i.e from 1999-2000 to 2003-2004, to Sri. C.V.Krishnaiah, Chief engineer. O&M/KTPS- V stage in a function held at new Delhi on 24.08.2004.

His excellency the Honourable President of India and Honourable Union Minister for Power have awarded Gold shields and certificates to VTPS, for outstanding performance for 4 consecutive years from 2000-01 to 2003-04, in a function held in New Delhi on 24.8.2004.

Sri T. Sambasiva Rao, Director (Thermal) is Felicitated for exceptional performance of APGENCO with highest ever PLF of 86.0% and securing 1st position among all Power Utilities in the Country of comparable capacities.

Sri T. Purnachandra Rao, Chief Engineer, RTPP is presented with the Gold Medal & Memento for exceptional performance in 2003-04 with a PLF of 92.20 % and securing TOP position among all Coal Based Thermal Power Stations in the Country.

Sri Y. Kumara Swamy, Chief Engineer, KTPS Stage-V is presented with Gold Medal & Memento for its exceptional performance in 2003-04 with a PLF of 91.95 % and securing SECOND position among all Coal Based Thermal Power Stations in the Country.

Sri G. Vijaya Kumar, who has been Chief Engineer at VTPS since July 2001 and presently Executive Director is presented with Gold Medal & Memento for its exceptional performance in 2003-04 with a PLF of 91.84 % and securing THIRD position among all Coal Based Thermal Power Stations in the Country.

Sri S.K. Prabhakara Rao, Chief Engineer , KTPS (O&M) is presented with Gold Medal & Memento for its exceptional performance in 2003-04 with a PLF of 85.29 % excluding C-Station units, which were under R&M.

Sri M.V. Ramana Murthy, Chief Engineer , RTS-B is presented with Gold Medal & Memento for its exceptional performance in 2003-04 with a PLF of 85.8 %.

Sri G. Satyanarayana, Superintending Engineer, GTPS is presented with Gold Medal & Memento for its exceptional performance in 2003-04 with a PLF of 89.87 % and securing FIRST position among all Gas Power Stations in the Country.
