Sri G. Satyanarayana, who has been Superintending Engineer at GTPS since May 2002 is presented with Gold Medal & Memento for its exceptional performance in 2003-04 with a PLF of 89.87 % and securing FIRST position among all Gas Power Stations in the Country.

GTPS established near Vijjeswaram in East Godavari District, is a combined cycle Power Station and comprises  of 5 units in all with an installed capacity of 272 MW in 2 Stages.  The Units were commissioned on 02-12-1990, 02-03-1991, 17-03-1992, 31-03-1997 & 23-12-1997.  The total cost of construction was Rs. 581 Cr.  Andhra Pradesh Gas Power Corporation Ltd., owns this Power Station and APGENCO is rendering O&M services for this station. 

Since commissioning, the Station is performing very well. The average PLF of the Station during  last 5 years has been around 84.8 %.
